As a longstanding patron of the fine arts, Ted is pleased to announce himself as a proud sponsor of Liverpool Biennial 2016.
WHAT IS LIVERPOOL BIENNIAL?
To get you up to speed, the Liverpool Biennial is the largest contemporary arts festival in the UK. As the name suggests, it is held once every two years. The free-of-charge event showcases innovative artworks from cutting-edge artists around the world.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT?
The works on display at the Biennial are characterised by a theme, and this year, the event explores the idea of fictions, stories and histories. This means the Biennial is separated into six ‘episodes’: Ancient Greece, Chinatown, Children’s Episode, Software, Monuments from the Future and Flashback. These episodes are sited within galleries, public and unused spaces, through live performance and even online. That means you can find art in every corner of Liverpool through July to October!
WHAT HAS TED GOT TO DO WITH IT?
Ted is sponsoring the work of London-based artist Céline Condorelli. She will be showcasing five pieces of work at the festival which explore the concept of portals. Her artworks vary wildly from large-scale installations to neon signage and even audio offerings. Despite this, you can easily spot Céline’s artworks throughout the city, as her portal-themed work acts creates a passage between the festival’s various episodes. Discover her ground-breaking work at Cains Brewery, the ABC Cinema and Tate Liverpool (keep an ear out, her work can be heard, not seen here).
To celebrate his involvement, Ted will also be holding a competition in his Liverpool One store.Guests who make a purchase in-store between 23rd-24th July and 26th-29th August can win themselves a prize from his box of tricks.
