TALES FROM TED’S TEAM: MEET SIMON LESLEY

Ever wondered who else works with Ted to make the magic happen? Well wonder no more. Ted’s throwing open the doors at his homes in London (and indeed across the world), in a new series that spotlights some of the wonderful, hard-working, creative folk that Ted’s proud to call his colleagues.

WHAT’S YOUR NAME AND WHERE DO YOU COME FROM?

I’m Simon, born and bred in North London.

AND WHAT DO YOU DO AT TED?

I’m a Senior Photographer at Ted’s in-house photography studio. I manage a team of photographers, shoot the shoppable website imagery and occasionally shoot editorials and campaigns. My latest editorial was the Swarovski limited edition shoot, which was a very exciting project to work on.

WHAT’S THE BEST THING ABOUT WORKING WITH TED?

I started at Ted six years ago as a studio intern, making cups of tea for everyone and all that stuff. I was given the opportunity to develop my skills and they took me on full-time - I’ve worked my way up ever since. I’ve had great experiences here including working on a Colour by Numbers campaign in Barcelona. There’re always new and exciting projects to shoot.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE TED PIECE – EITHER FROM CURRENT SEASON OR BACK IN THE DAY?

I really enjoy the black Logo hoodie which I’m wearing today, it’s understated but very on-trend – I’m not a colourful guy so it suits me just right.

TELL TED A JOKE…

What do you call a jacket that’s on fire? A blazer
